MDJH Guidance / School Counselling

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We are MDJH’s Guidance Team, and as part of our comprehensive guidance program, we collaborate to offer a wide range of supports to students, including the following:

  • individual counselling sessions and ‘check-ins’ covering a wide range of concerns, including academic, social/emotional, interpersonal and mental health related matters
  • small group counselling
  • transition planning (from grade to grade, school to school)
  • program planning
  • consultation with external agencies
  • consultation with district specialists
  • support around exceptionalities
  • consultation and collaboration with families
  • comprehensive assessments

If you have questions about the guidance program and how it may help your child, or if you’d like to arrange a meeting with one of our school counsellors, please contact us at deboramoores@nlesd.ca or deanaward@nlesd.ca. Alternatively, you can also request support through our school’s Administrative Team or through your child’s teacher. Your child can also self-refer to us simply by stopping by one of our offices or requesting support through their teacher.
