One of the highlights of the Grade 9 School Leaving Carnival is the baby picture slideshow. Any Grade 9 student who wants to be included in this slideshow must send their baby picture to Ms. Quann. Please send ONE picture only to colettequann@nlesd.ca or you can drop it off to the school. If dropping off a copy, be sure to put in an envelope and include student name and homeroom on envelope. This will help in returning the photo to the student.

The deadline for submission of photos is Friday, May 10th.

We have reached a milestone on our Children’s Wish Fundraising Campaign! As we have raised over $4500 toward our goal of $10 000, Mr. West has put his face on the line. He graciously agreed to be pied in the face by Student Council President Daniel Blackmore in front of the MDJH student body. The weapon of choice was Lemon Meringue. Keep an eye out for more milestones, as your donations help bring us closer to our goal of making a child’s wish come true.

Mini-enrichment letters were given to students today. If your child applied but did not receive a letter, see Mrs. Watton. Also, anyone who would still like to apply can click here to check for open slots.

Congratulations to the Girls Grade 7 Volleyball team, who won Bronze this past weekend at the Provincials in Clarenville.

MDJH also had students participating int his weekend’s Skills Canada competition at the College of the North Atlantic. Silvi I. received Silver in Photography and Daniel B received Gold for “The Pitch”.
