Memorial Engineering Outreach Offering Cyber Smart Program

Memorial Engineering Outreach is excited to be working with Actua (https://www.actua.ca/en/) to deliver a Cyber Smart Program – this program focuses on teaching youth about cyber safety, cyber security and digital citizenship. The activities have been designed to empower youth with the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to be responsible digital users and creators.

Participants will engage with discussion and activities on various Cyber Smart topics, including digital citizenship, online etiquette, bias, fake news, privacy, strong passwords, encryption, cyber scams and more! Participants will leave with a stronger cyber security awareness and new cyber safety skills to help them feel empowered to be responsible digital users and creators.

Our first pilot is being offered to girls in grades 8-10, and will take place here in the S.J. Carew building on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:00. The first session will be on November 2 and the last session will be November 30.

Online registration for this program will open on Friday, Oct. 22 at 12:00noon. Please use the link below to visit our upcoming events page where you will find more about the event, as well as the registration link. Spaces are limited, COVID protocols will be in place.

Canadian Student Leadership Conference 2021

Five future leaders from MDJH, under the guidance of Mme. Quann, are attending the on-going Canadian Student Leadership Conference (CSLC 2021). Although this is a virtual conference this year, they are having a great time and attending sessions with students from all across the country.

The keynote speaker for this conference was hockey commentator Harnarayan Singh.

Jamarama – Friday, Oct. 22

Jamarama is Friday, October 22nd! Students and staff are encouraged to wear pajamas to school in support of the Janeway. Wearing pajamas is a sign of solidarity and support for the brave kids at the Janeway Hospital who don’t get to change out of their PJs. It lets them know that we are thinking of them and are fighting for them.

We have two options to donate:

Thank you , in advance, for your continued support.
