Tech Quest 2022 Lottery
We are holding a lottery to raise funds to improve our school’s wireless network so that all students will be able to use their Chromebooks inside the building at the same time. All students have been given tickets to see if they can sell them, and we are having daily seller prizes, as well as prizes for the top seller and the top homeroom.

Adopt A Senior Christmas Project
For the past ten years we have partnered with St. Pat’s Mercy Home to provide gifts for their seniors who may not have anyone to give them a gift. They are too often forgotten at this time of year. Ours are the only gift they may receive.
We receive a list of wish items for seniors. Some lists are bigger than others and some are quite small.
Students are asked to bring in a monetary donation toward the purchase of clothing items requested. Students are also able to bring in the following items:
- Dry shampoo (Batiste) for our female residents
- Unscented Hairspray
- Shampoo
- Unscented body lotion
- Razors for our male residents (Gillette, Xtreme or Bic)
- Body wash (unscented or low scent)
- Baby powder
- Deodorant gel (something with low scent)
- Treats (chewing gum, soft cheesies, chocolate bars (no nuts or chewy)
- Hair brushes
- Art supplies (residents love to paint small pictures for their rooms/family)
- Coloring leads, markers
- Gift Cards – Tim Horton’s/Dollarama (Recreational Therapy takes residents on outings and they often stop at Tim Horton’s to get residents coffee, etc.)
Every homeroom will sign a card for the seniors.
This is a very heartwarming project. Thank you for your continued support.
All donations must be handed in by Friday, December 9th.
Book Fair – Only Two Days Left!
As you know, the book fair is going on all this week until Friday, then it will be gone faster than the drumsticks on your Christmas turkey! Students will have a scheduled visit with their class, but they can also come during recess and lunch every day. We really appreciate your support this far, but we are far away from our goal. Reading for pleasure helps our students become lifelong readers and learners, and this fair is a great place to find some great books!
Please have a look at our online shop and consider supporting us there. (https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5184696) It is also a great place to find some Christmas gifts from the comfort of your own home! There is free shipping on all online orders as they will be delivered right to the school. We will contact you when they arrive.
Happy reading!
See you at the fair!

Scholastic Book Fair
Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns Rewards for our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place next week from Monday, November 28, to Friday December 2, in the MDJH Library.
- Students can visit the fair during recess and lunch on their own, and with their homeroom. (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jqhA_r0hny1zXgg4N9Ik7IFWFbDx8t1HbdanXpa6lVo/edit?usp=sharing)
- School is closed on Tuesday for Teacher PD, but the MDJH 25th Anniversary Open House will be on that night from 6-8, and you are invited to visit with your family at that time.
- If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Virtual Book Fair. All orders ship directly to our school, and we will arrange for a pickup time when they arrive. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
