Today at MDJH we observed Orange Shirt Day. We started the day with a land acknowledgement, then every class engaged in an activity to find out more about the day.

We’ll see everyone back on Tuesday for Day 6.

Reminder that, due to observation of National Truth & Reconciliation Day, there will be no classes on Monday, September 30th.

Tuesday, October 1st will be Day 6 on the schedule.

MDJH Grade 8 Girls Volleyball Open Tryouts

• Open tryout #2: Friday, September 27 from 5:30 pm -7:00 pm.
• Open tryout #3: Saturday, September 28 from 11:00 am -12:30 pm.

Location: MDJH Gymnasium

There will be two MDJH Grade 8 Girls Volleyball teams selected from these tryouts.

Due to circumstances beyond our control:

• The Grade 9 boys volleyball practice that was scheduled today, September 24th is cancelled
• The Grade 8 girls volleyball tryouts that were scheduled for today, September 24th and tomorrow September 25th are cancelled

There will be a Grade 8 Girls open volleyball tryout on Sunday, September 22nd from 6:00 – 7:30pm.

There will be an open Senior Boys Soccer tryout on Monday , September 23th at 3:30- 4:45pm and on Wednesday , September 25th at 2:30-3:45 pm.

Cleats and shin guards are mandatory.

Be prepared for the practice to be held inside or outside.

Our Annual MDJH Curriculum Night takes place tomorrow night (Thursday, September 19th) here at the school.

This year we have some changes to how the evening will be run. Please refer to the schedule below to see when you can attend:

• 6:20pm – Doors open
• 6:30pm – Parents and guardians of our Grade 7 students only are asked to come to the gym for a meeting with our administrative team.
• 7:00 – 8:00pm – Grade 7 parents and guardians will visit the classrooms of the Grade 7 teachers.
• 8:00 – 9:00pm – Grade 8 and 9 parents and guardians will visit the classrooms of the Grade 8 and 9 teachers.

It has been brought to our attention that, on the Power School App, you are unable to see the Day 1 schedule but can see the actual day of the week and date. So, to avoid confusion for all of you, we will follow today’s schedule – Thursday, September 19th, 2024 (Day 5) – as seen on your app instead of Day 1 as previously stated. Please consult with your youth as well for assistance in finding the information prior to arriving at our school.

We will ring the bell every 10 minutes to let you know when to switch classes and proceed to your next teacher.

We will have our student council members here to assist with finding classrooms as well in the event that you get lost.

• Junior Girls Soccer (Gr. 7 & 8) open tryouts start today, Monday, Sept. 16 and Wednesday, Sept. 18, afterschool from 2:30 – 3:30. Be prepared to play outdoors or indoors.  Cleats & Shin Guards are mandatory.
• Sr. Girls Soccer (Gr. 8 & 9) open tryouts start tomorrow Tuesday, Sept 17 from 3:15pm – 4:30pm. Cleats & Shin Guards are mandatory.

Gr. 7 Girls Volleyball Tryouts
