High School Course Selection Now Available
Course Selection is now available for students who will be attending Gonzaga in the 2021-2022 school year. All the information needed for course selection can be found by visiting Gonzaga’s web site.
Please make sure that you have submitted your course requests on line through your PowerSchool account by 3 pm on March 5.
Also, please complete your course selection sheet and return a parent/guardian signed copy via email to geraldinehoulihan@nlesd.ca by March 5.

MDJH Kindness Video
As part of Pink Shirt Day, Ms. Pickett put together a video that highlights teachers and staff at MDJH offering positive message to our students. We viewed this video in our classes today, and thought that the community might enjoy it as well!

Online Chess Tournament
There is an upcoming online chess tournament hosted by one of our Grade 9 students on Saturday, March 13th. This is open to all chess players in Newfoundland and Labrador. STEMforGIRLS Club
Interested in Science/Technology? Join our online STEM community!
Learn from successful women how to set yourself up for a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) career. With a digital clubhouse, monthly STEM kits, regional events, and a provincial conference, you choose how and when you participate.
STEMforGIRLS Club is an interactive province-wide STEM community delivered by Women in Resource Development Corporation (WRDC). STEMforGIRLS programs empower female (non-binary, two-spirit, gender fluid, agender, or third gender inclusive) youth with information and the self-confidence needed to build successful futures in STEM. They are provided free of charge thanks to the support of our sponsors.

Afterschool STEAM
Registration for the winter Afterschool STEAM program will be on Wednesday, February, 24th at 12:00 noon. This virtual program is FREE and is designed for youth ages 9-11. Sessions will be offered from 3:30pm – 4:30pm on March, 9, 16, 23 and 30. Students will require access to a device with an internet connection and the ability to take part in live calls. A list of household items to be used in the sessions will be shared with all families that register in order to help with planning.
