Just a reminder that Friday, May 1st is a professional development day here at MDJH. As a result there will be no classes that day. Classes will resume on Monday, May 4th, and it will be Day 6 on the schedule.

Please be advised that the Kids Eat Smart / MDJH School Breakfast will not be available on Monday, April 13th due to the replenishing of supplies.

Regular breakfast will resume on Tuesday, April 14th.

Two teams participated in the Junior High Math League competitions this past week. They both did extremely well, with one team taking the gold with an almost perfect score! Thank you to Colleen Ledwell for being a teacher proctor.

Congrats to the girls under 14 volleyball team on their bronze medal win in the tournament this past weekend, and to their coach, Mr. Keats.

Kids Eat Smart Clubs will be serving Apple themed recipes in their programs on March 27, 2015!

You Can Help!!!

Your child can join in the fun and support his or her Kids Eat Smart Club by wearing Red for Apple Day!

To support your Kids Eat Smart Club please send along $1 with your child on KES Apple Day, March 27!

All monies will be collected by your child’s teacher and given to the Kids Eat Smart Club volunteer coordinator at your school to buy food for your child’s program!

Due to the weather today, all afterschool activities for students are cancelled.

As well, due to parent-teacher interviews on Thursday, March 19th, students will be dismissed for the day at 11:38, the regular lunchtime.

There will also be no school for students on Friday, March 20th due to a Teacher Professional Development Day. Classes will resume on Monday, March 23rd, when it will be Day 3 on the calendar.

 

In support of a Haiti based non-profit charity called “Hands across the Sea”, MDJH will have a “Hats for Haiti Day” on Wednesday, March 18th. Students are encouraged to wear a hat and donate a loonie. Money raised will be donated to an orphanage and school in Haiti run by a Newfoundland woman.

Hats must be appropriate. Any logos and language must be acceptable and no sombreros or large hats are permitted as they obstruct the view of students in class.

• Report Cards for Term 2 will be released Friday, March 13th
• Parent/Teacher Interviews will take place on Thursday, March 19th from 1:00 – 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:30 PM
• School will dismiss on Thursday, March 19th at the regular lunch time
• We will once again be using OPTIS for parents/guardians to book interviews times, beginning Friday, March 13th, from 3:30 P.M onwards:
