K-12 Chess Tournament

On October 21st, the Newfoundland and Labrador School Chess Association (NLSCA) is holding the first school chess tournament of this school year. The tournament is open to all school aged players from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and will take place at Leary’s Brook Junior High School in St. John’s. Registration will be on-site from 9:30am to 10am or on-line in advance from the NLSCA web site www.chess.nl.ca (or you can Google “NL School Chess”).

MDJH Soccer Updates

The Junior Boys Soccer game today (Monday, October 16th) is CANCELLED due to weather.

  • Next game is Tuesday Oct.17th at 5:00 pm at Rainbow Gully. Please make sure you bring your forms and $20.

Senior Boys soccer meeting and practice will be on Friday, Oct. 20th from 2:30 – 4:00pm in the gym.

The Senior Girls Soccer game today has been cancelled due to the weather.

  • It has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Oct. 17th at 4:30PM at the Diane Whalen turf field in Paradise.

Weekend Sports Updates

  • Big Congrats to the Boys U14 Hockey team who played in New Brunswick at the Atlantic Challenge Cup this past weekend. A few Grizzlies received a Silver medal!

  • Congratulations to all cross-country runners this past weekend, MDJH won first place in the categories of grade 7 boys, grade 8 & 9 boys, and grade 8 & 9 girls!
