MDJH Open House – November 29th

MDJH open House Invitation
Nov 29 from 6-8pm

This is a milestone year for us here at Macdonald Drive! As part of our 50th anniversary celebration, we are having an Open House for MDJH alumni (staff and students) on November 29th from 6:00-8:00pm. We are inviting former staff and students to come in and take a walk through the school and to enjoy a small snack at the cafeteria.

We are looking to our school community for donations of treats for this event. We are looking for cookies, sandwiches, vegetable & fruit trays, and water. Anyone able to donate one or more of these items can please email colettequann@nlesd.ca, sarahcomerford@nlesd.ca, or meghangambin@nlesd.ca.

Please note that while November 29th is a district closeout for staff PD, the school is open for parents to drop off their donations that day.

Scholastic Book Fair – Volunteers Needed!

We need your help! Be a volunteer!

The Scholastic Book Fair will be arriving soon, and we’re excited about sharing the joy of reading with our students. We invite you to participate in this year’s Scholastic Book Fair from November 28 to December 2 by volunteering.

Scholastic Book Fairs gives our school the opportunity to bring families, teachers, students, and books together. It’s the ultimate book event! Additionally, a portion of the sales benefits our school library. It’s the best way to raise funds while encouraging kids to read.

Being a part of something special is easier than you think. There are lots of ways to volunteer, including setting up our Book Fair and table displays (November 24) to create a terrific bookstore environment, working at our Cashier Table, and helping students and shoppers select just the right books (November 28, 30 and December 1, and 2) and tear-down (December 5).

If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about our Scholastic Book Fair, please contact: Beth Power (bethpower@nlesd.ca) or 753-8240 ext 231.

Thank you in advance for helping to make our students lifelong readers – we couldn’t do it without your participation!
