School Development Surveys are conducted annually to gather feedback from students, staff, and parents/guardians to inform the school development process. The survey results will be provided to your child’s school and used with other data to identify the school’s strengths and challenges. Your child’s school will then create and implement a plan to build on successes and address areas of challenge.

The survey is anonymous, which means that we cannot connect your survey responses to you. We encourage everyone to participate so that we have the most accurate representation of family perceptions at your school.

Congratulations go out to Grade 8 student Benjamin R., who was awarded an Ambassador Award at the Provincial Heritage Fair this past weekend. He and the other award winners will be travelling to Europe on the Caribou Tour this summer.

Due to the overwhelming response to the experience we had at the Rising Above movie today, we have decided that tomorrow (Friday, May 4th) will be Pink Shirt Day here at MDJH! Wear your pink shirts tomorrow and show your support for anti-bullying!

The MDJH ROV Team will be competing on Friday, May 4, at the Marine Institute School of Ocean Technology as part of the Marine Advanced Technology and Education (MATE) Underwater ROV Competition – Scout class. This year’s team consists of 13 students from grade 7-9, male and female.

On Friday, April 27th, students at MDJH donated money and walked around Kent’s Pond to raise awareness of and funds to support clean drinking water. We are very happy to announce that we collected over $1200.00, surpassing our target of $1000.00! Way to go, Grizzlies!

Special thanks also go out to Grade 7 student Aaron H. for his very generous donation of $100.00 of his own savings toward the WE Walk for Water. Aaron is a strong supporter of social justice issues and we are so appreciative of this kind gesture!

On March 28th, the MDJH Outreach Team prepared a delicious supper for guests at Ronald McDonald House. The menu consisted of macaroni and cheese, garlic bread and brownies. The team had a great visit and tour of Ronald McDonald House, and we look forward to another visit next year.
