MDJH Annual Toy Drive

Macdonald Drive Junior High is hosting our annual toy drive and fund raiser. Help us by donating a new, unwrapped toy /game. Consider kids up to about 13 years of age. You may also help by making a donation of $5.00 (or more). We will donate any toys to the Happy Tree foundation, and will distribute any funds collected to needy families in our school community. Gifts and donations should be dropped off at the office.

In appreciation of your gift, we will enter your name in a draw for a $100.00 BestBuy gift card. The draw will be on Dec. 22nd.
Be sure to leave your name and phone number at the office! Thank you for your support!

Are You WebAware?

We live in an on-line world, and many of our students are connected to that world as often as possible. How much do you know about your child’s on-line habits? Digital Citizenship is something we aim to teach to all our students, and part of that teaching process is parental involvement.

Here is a checklist you can look over to see how involved you are with your child’s surfing and gaming activities. You might find something here to talk over, or something you might find interesting to yourself. After all, if you can read this, you are on the web…

Teacher Spotlight on Ms. Edwina Mills

Here at Macdonald Drive we know that we change lives every day. The Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers Association (NLTA) has a website dedicated to the stories of people who have felt this change in their lives in a profound way. Recently, English Department Head Ms. Edwina Mills was profiled in one of these testimonials. To see this story, click here. And if you have a story you’d like to share, please visit Teachers Change Lives.

Bus Route Change – Route 2

As of the morning of December 6th, there will be minor changes to MDJH Bus Route 2.  The stop at Airport Heights Drive @ Argus Place will be moved to Airport Heights Drive @ Canso Place. Along with this, there will be some adjustments to the stop timings. In practice, this should not change the actual pick-up times for students.

For more information, please refer to the 2017-18 Bus Route document, or the MDJH Bus Information Page.
