The October Newsletter is here – just in time for Thanksgiving!
This annual event which sees Grade 9 students attend the workplace of their parent or a family friend is almost upon us again.
If you click here, you will be taken to a website that has tabs which contain pertinent information for Educators, Students and, Employers. The Virtual Reality tab contains several video clips of job types which we have developed for students in remote areas who do not have a variety of job types available in their community. The Real Talk tab highlights our Career Counseling app which has gained great traction over the past two years.
Please note that if you are intending to have your student take part on November 1, you must send a message to the school in advance to let us know that they will be absent on that day.
Take Our Kids to Work has proven to be a great way to expose students to the world of work over the past 20 years. With your help we look forward to another great year this year.
Please click here to read a letter from the Chair of the Board of Trustees regarding the importance of student engagement and attendance in our schools. The Chair feels this is an important topic which should be discussed at homes and reinforced with all students.
