Take Our Kids to Work Day 2020 is a career exploration event for students in Grade 9. This event is not promoted by NLESD, but it is one that may appeal to some parents and/or students. This year it is scheduled to be a virtual event.

If you would more information or would like to have your workplace participate in this event, there are some steps that must be completed.

1. Visit The Learning Partnership at https://www.thelearningpartnership.ca/take-our-kids-to-work to register your workplace.
2. Parents or guardians have to visit The Learning Partnership to register a student to participate.
3. An email must be sent to MDJH to confirm the student’s participation, so that they are not marked as “Absent Unexcused”.

Please note that this is an event for Grade 9 students only. Students who participate are responsible for worked covered in class during their absence.

We are collecting Coats for Kids at MDJH. We are asking students to bring along any previously used coats or snow pants to the conference room. Please include the student name with the item as there will be draws for prizes. This will be ongoing until Thursday, November 5th.

There is an upcoming PD day on Monday, November 16th (Day 5). There will be no classes for students on that day.

Due to the changing weather, Ultimate Frisbee practices and games are now concluded until the Spring. Further updates will be posted to the school website as they happen.

The Public Health Program at Eastern Health is offering flu vaccine in school to students in Grades 4 to 12. Flu vaccine consent forms were sent home with students today. These forms must be completed in full, signed by a parent or legal guardian and returned to school as soon as possible if you wish to have the student receive a free flu vaccine at school.
