The new MDJH clothing orders are arriving, just in time for the holidays!

Please note: If your order is meant to be a gift and not given to the student immediately, please let the office know so that we don’t accidentally spoil the surprise.

Basketball practices scheduled for today will be cancelled due to the impending weather. 

Our first Parent-Teacher Interviews for the 2025-26 School Year will take place on Thursday, December 11th from 12:30 to 6:00 pm.

Due to the Interviews, students will be dismissed at 11:19am on December 11th.

Monday, December 8, is the start of our 2-week Christmas Chaos events! The Student Council is happy to announce some fun activities for students and staff. See schedule below and in Google Classrooms!

Monday is the start of our Door Decorating Contest which is a class competition. Doors will be judged on Wednesday, Dec. 17 after school – one winner per grade level. Prizes will be distributed on Thursday, Dec. 18. Students are responsible for getting the materials on their own. Teachers may help if they wish. Do not ask the art teacher or the office for art supplies.

On Monday, we will also be selling Candy Cane Grams in the lobby at lunch for $1 until Dec. 15. All proceeds go to MDJH needy families. Please support this cause by purchasing a candy cane gram for someone special. Grams will be delivered on Dec. 17.

Each homeroom is asked to sign a Christmas card for our Adopt-a-Senior project on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Our class reps should take care of this. Cards will be provided.

We will also be asking students to dress for our theme days. Our first theme day is on Wed, Dec. 10, and it is Christmas Plaid Day.

Congratulations to the Grade 8 boys basketball team who won the St. Peters Invitational basketball tournament this past weekend!

Due to the inclement weather, schools in the St. John’s Metro Region – including MDJH – will be closed for today, Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

There will be a parent meeting at MDJH on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 5:00-5:45 pm. This meeting is to see if there are sufficient numbers to participate and to discuss other pertinent details.

We would like to congratulate all the MDJH students who participated in the Skills Canada NL Intermediate Challenge over the weekend. Job well done !

We would also like to congratulate and thank the teachers who mentored the participants, as well as those who graciously volunteered to assist our students and attend on Saturday.

MDJH received second place overall for all schools who participated.

We are super proud of this achievement and so proud of our students.
